Total Bonus for OPUS Artis Paris International Music Competition Finals: 3000 euros

 

 

 

 

 

Article 1. The OPUS Artis Paris International String Competition will take place in January, 2024. It aims to seek out and cultivate more young string music learners engaging into the career of art performance and provides an excellent platform for the new generations to grow.

 

 

 

 

Article 2. The OPUS Artis Paris International String Competition is open to contestants from different countries and regions around the world. Contestants can choose string instruments from violin, viola, cello and double bass for solo or ensemble performances. The competition has two rounds, the preliminary round and the finals round, all the contestants should compete by submitting video for the preliminary round, the finals round will take place in Flaine, France on July 27th, 2024.

 

According to the results of the preliminary round, the judges will select outstanding contestants to the finals round.

 

 

 

Article 3.Competition Category:

 

Solo String:

 

Category I  6-9 years old

 

Category II  10-14 years old

 

Category III  15-18 years old

 

Category IV  19-24 years old

 

Category V  over 24 years old

 

Ensemble:

 

Category A under 12 years old

 

Category B 12-18 years old

 

Category C over 18 years old

 

 

 

 

Article 4. Repertoire

Solo String:

The following are the requirements for the competition repertoire. Contestants must perform all pieces from memory. Free choice selection should be taken from the standard solo classical repertoire (as example no pop or jazz). The total performance length must not exceed the time limit for each category.

 

Category I    within 6 minutes.

 

Category II   within 8 minutes.

 

Category III  within 10 minutes.

 

Category IV   within 12 minutes.

 

Category V    within 15 minutes.

 

 

Ensemble:

 

The following are the requirements for the competition repertoire. Ensemble selection should be taken from the standard classical repertoire includes string duets, string trios, string quartets, string quintets, any of them. The total performance length must not exceed the time limit for each category.

 

Category A   within 8 minutes.

 

Category B   within 10 minutes.

 

Category C   within 12 minutes.

 

 

 

Special Prize:

Best Performance Award for French String Works

Contestants who want to run for the“Best Performance Award for French String Works” must perform at least one string work from French composer.

Solo String application fee

Category III: 65 euros

 

Category II: 75 euros

 

Category III: 85 euros

 

Ensemble application fee

 

Category A: 75 euros

 

Category B: 85 euros

 

Category C: 95 euros

 

 

 

 

Article 6. Prize settings

 

The OPUS Artis Paris International String Competition adopts two rounds competition. The preliminary round prize settings as below:

 

The grand prize will be awarded to contestants with at least 90 /100points; The first prize will be awarded to contestants with at least 85 / 100 points; The second prize will be awarded to contestants with at least 80 / 100 points; The third prize will be awarded to contestants with at least 75 / 100 points; The honorable mention will be awarded to contestants with at least 70 / 100 points. The “Best Performance Award for French String Works” will be awarded to the contestants who get the best scores for string work from French composer.

 

 

-The jury has the right to decide on the final outcome of the competition.

 

-The jury has the right to decide to leave the ranking blank, and contestants shall not object.

 

-The jury will score the contestants and select the best contestants according to the evaluation criteria of the same category.

 

-The Best Performance Award for French String Works are judged individually, regardless of category, and are awarded to the highest-rated contestant.

 

-Contestants will receive both prize certificate and comments after the preliminary round.

 

-The list of the finals round will be announced on 30th January, 2024.

 

 

 

 

Article 7. Video Requirements

 

-The dress code for the competition video should be respectful of the audience.

 

-Please choose a recording studio, a small concert hall or a small indoor venue for the video shooting location.

 

-The video record is required to be shot on a horizontal screen. which requires shooting the contestant's half body or above, and the shooting distance requires a clear view of the face.

 

-The videos submitted by the contestants shall not be post-edited in any way, nor shall any effects be added.

 

 

 

 

Article 8. How To Apply

Contestants should fill in the application form in website, then provide the video by www.wetransfer.com (opusartisparis@gmail.com).

 

 

 

Article 9. Other Condition

To participate in the competition, we need the contestants to accept and agree to publish and share their performance videos on various publicity platforms and social media (FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, YOUTUBE, DAILY MOTION, etc).
